Reflection

I found Module 3 very interesting as I learned the differences between pattern and surface. From the lectures available for this module, I gained the knowledge and skills to design artefacts according to their criterias as well as a final composite.
This module introduced me to Rhino and I learned how to use Paneling Tools and other relevant tools in order to produce artefact 1,2 and 3 as well as the final composite. I found my fabric sample very consistent with its light and dark shades. On the other hand, the terrain I was assigned to was sloped to one side and was very flat on the surface as it had no unevenness. This allowed me to manipulate the heights of the panels. However, it was difficult to mimic the form of the fabric as the terrain was sloping down to one side. I designed many sets of panels and finally found the ones that suited the conditions of the terrain and portrayed the elements of the fabric sample best.
However, improvements could have been made to artefact 3 in terms of dramatizing the tension and pull of gravity to mimic the fabric even closer.
